Q. Are the huts available for use by members of the public?

A. Yes, but you will need to obtain a camping permit from Parks Victoria and you’ll also need to let us know the dates to avoid clashing with other users.

Q. What happens if the weather turns really nasty while a group is on the island?

A. The safety of riders, horses (and cattle)is paramount and if the pilot thinks it necessary the return trip will be delayed until conditions improve.

I am thinking on running a Kayak trip across to Snake island on the 20/2/2016 and was wondering if the huts are available for five people and the cost of hire.?
    Kind regards Brett Sparkes.

      Hi Brett
The huts are available on the weekend you nominated. There isn’t a stipulated fee for the hire of the huts.
As you are probably aware you need to self cater for your trip.. The kitchen hut is always open but cupboards and gas etc are locked . The bunkhouses are also open.
Please close the blinds in the kitchen when you leave.
Kev , one of the resident Kookaburras dislikes intensely the reflection looking back at him in the window. The result is shredded fly screen and broken glass.
There are also a few fairly lively tiger snakes around at the moment.
      Enjoy your trip.
      regards
      Jenny Bland
